Job Description

  • Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for mixed commercial construction projects.
  • Analyze construction drawings and specifications to identify scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to gather pricing.
  • Maintain and update construction cost databases and estimating tools.
  • Participate in bid reviews and revise estimates as project details evolve.
  • Support value engineering initiatives to optimize construction costs.
  • Ensure estimates align with company procedures and construction standards.
  • Communicate effectively with the construction team to achieve project goals.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Jr. / Assistant Estimator should have:

  • Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for mixed commercial construction projects.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and scopes to determine labor, materials, and costs.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing.
  • Maintain and update construction estimating databases, takeoff software, and cost histories.
  • Participate in bid reviews and modify estimates as design and scope changes occur.
  • Support value engineering efforts to improve constructability and control project costs.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company procedures, contract requirements, and construction standards.
  • Communicate clearly with the construction team to support successful project execution.
