The Scheduling Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing project schedules in to ensure work is completed on time, within scope, and in coordination with all stakeholders. They analyze timelines, identify risks, and collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and owners to keep projects on track and proactively resolve delays.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities of a Lead Scheduler | Healthcare & Higher Education Projects | Houston or Austin, TX

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to gather schedule input and progress updates.
  • Track project milestones, critical path, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
  • Identify scheduling risks, delays, and potential conflicts, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Produce schedule reports and communicate updates clearly to leadership, clients, and project teams.
  • Ensure schedules align with contracts, budgets, and project scope.
  • Support bid/proposal efforts with schedule development and resource planning.
  • Conduct regular schedule reviews, audits, and recovery planning when delays occur.

The Successful Applicant

A Successful Lead Scheduler | Healthcare & Higher Education Projects | Houston or Austin, TX

  • 10+ years of experience in construction scheduling, ideally with exposure to complex, large-scale projects.
  • Proven experience using Primavera P6 (mandatory in most cases), with knowledge of MS Project or other scheduling software as a plus.
  • Sector experience in healthcare, higher education, civic/municipal, or other complex institutional projects
  • Deep understanding of construction processes, project sequencing, and resource management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risks and delays early.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives, project teams, and clients (translating technical schedule details into clear updates).
