Save JobEmail Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsJoin a top AmLaw firm based in Chicago!Competitive Salary and benefits packageAbout Our ClientThis is a business law firm that operates with an eye towards responsiveness and innovation in all that they do.Job DescriptionBusiness Development * Develop effective business development plans and processes aligned with department strategies and priorities, as well as firm goals. * Provide active operational management, support and oversight of all new business development efforts, including customized pitch and RFP responses; work closely with other members of the Business Development Department in their completion. Track results with prompt follow-up, measurement, and communication of outcomes. * Maintain a knowledge of legal market and competitive trends with business development implications. Provide attorneys with updates on key industries, client prospects and local/geographic trends. * Collaborate with the Attorney Development team and the CMO on the development of cross-selling, client retention, and other business development or marketing-related education programs. * Provide strategic coaching to individual lawyers and "pitch teams" to increase effectiveness of business development approaches. * Maintain essential information on client matters through the development and maintenance of deal lists and significant representations; proactively market and promote notable matters. Collaborate with Communications Manager to publicly promote matters, when appropriate. * Participate in practice group and departmental meetings. Legal Rankings * Manage overall legal ranking process for designated departments and practices. * Serve as central resource for attorneys in gathering the appropriate information for the legal ranking submissions to trade publications and databases, such as Chambers USA, Pitchbook and Merger Market. Marketing/Communications * Collaborate with the Communications Manager on the development and implementation of public relations and internal/external communications strategies and tactics that are aligned with attorney business plans. * Work with the Communications Manager to develop targeted media, public relations, and/or social media tactics for specific groups or attorneys. * Ensure the effective distribution of firm publications, including assorted mailings (hardcopy and/or electronic), client updates, announcements and other client development related materials. * Work with attorneys to develop ideas, draft and edit communications to clients and targets (e.g. newsletters, alerts, event invitations, brochures, articles), and help guide the production of these materials. * Support the brand development and ensure the accuracy of relevant marketing materials, including website content, and attorney profiles for your assigned attorneys and groups.
