Job Description

The Legal Counsel will be working closely with the business in Bethlehem, PA and will be responsible for handling the following:

  • Drafting, reviewing and management of contracts and agreements such as distribution, license, supply, purchase, service, business development and M&A agreements
  • Provide legal advice on a wide range of corporate issues including employment, competition law, and real estate
  • Assisting management with potential acquisition, divestment or joint venture projects and new business opportunities
  • Assisting management in reaching effective resolutions of disputes that could range across HR, Tax and Commercial matters, Manufacturing, Environment, etc.
  • Managing the execution of any litigation, arbitration or other dispute resolution mechanisms, including selecting and managing local outside counsel as needed

The Successful Applicant

  • JD from a US Law School
  • Admission to US State Bar
  • 4-7 years of in-house experience with in a generic pharma or life sciences company
  • Must have experience drafting, negotiating and reviewing distribution, license, supply, purchase, service, business development and M&A agreements relating to a pharma/life sciences business
  • Ability to build strong, lasting and effective relationships with stakeholders as well as to cultivate and maintain the position of trusted advisor to business and other key functions
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate complex issues in practical ways and to influence internal managers and external counter-parties to get the right results
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and balance competing demands of working on multiple projects while working under minimal supervision
