Job Description

  • Act as the point person for all people‑related initiatives within the practice group.
  • Drive key cycles: evaluations, feedback processes, promotion considerations, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align practice goals with firm‑wide strategy.
  • Partner with staffing leaders to allocate work efficiently and thoughtfully.
  • Monitor utilization and upcoming capacity needs-and course‑correct when needed.
  • Provide high‑touch guidance to associates; understand their needs, goals, and development areas.
  • Identify experience gaps and partner with L&D/PD teams to solve them creatively.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience in practice management or attorney development within a law firm strongly preferred.
  • Open to candidates from law firm business services functions: recruiting, PD, L&D, resource management, or attorney staffing.
  • Experience with staffing/allocation is preferred.
  • Comfortable handling both sensitive partner‑level conversations and associate‑facing engagement tasks.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; adept at keeping many moving parts aligned.
  • Able to commute 3 days a week onsite in NYC.
