Job Description

The Manufacturing Development Engineer is responsible for: 


  • Lead the development of innovative manufacturing processes from concept to production, ensuring design for manufacturability in new projects.
  • Contribute to design for manufacturability in the stage gate process, plan and execute experiments for process optimization, and quantify process capabilities.
  • Coordinate prototype manufacturing for new product development, create engineering deliverables, and build process documentation for cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, serve as a liaison between contract manufacturers and internal teams, and develop/tracking manufacturing KPIs to support company goals.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Manufacturing Development Engineer will:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM with over 7 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering, or 5+ years with an Advanced degree.
  • Extensive background in product development and manufacturing within OEM and/or supplier communities.
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing, particularly in low volume, high mix environments.
  • Proficient in Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and statistical analysis skills, including the use of tools such as DOE and statistical methods.
  • Experience or knowledge in welding processes (LBW, GTAW, RSW, USW) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO and AS9100 quality system methods is advantageous.
