About Our Client

My client, a tier one automotive supplier based in Broadview, was established more than 50 years ago. They are a family run business and describe themselves as a one stop shop where they can serve their customers in a full service style. Supplying top brands such as Tesla and Rivian, my client is experiencing rapid growth and seeks a manufacturing engineer to facilitate this. My client believes strongly in the development of their people, and expect this role to grow into a leadership position down the line. They will offer paid trainings as well as tuition reimbursement opportunities to back this up.

Job Description

  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and project management teams to implement new manufacturing processes and participate in Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support maintenance engineering department
  • Work on quality support, addressing scrap, poka yoke, and inspection fixtures/gages
  • Coordinate and implement new process development, work instructions, SOPs, and tooling/fixtures
  • Select appropriate manufacturing methods for new and existing product lines
  • Provide CAD support to tool room, production, and sales teams as needed
  • Communicate with customers to improve manufacturing processes

The Successful Applicant

  • 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and measurement tools
  • Experience leading or participating in Lean initiatives
  • Working knowledge of 5S principles
  • Strong ability to read engineering documents and blueprints
  • Plex knowledge is a plus
  • Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
