About Our Client
Our client based in Downers Grove is a manufacturer of couplings and bearings, serving customers in the automotive space. Recently purchased by a top global manufacturing company, our client has been given the resources to truly ramp up production and explode their production capabilities. They maintain the warm culture and work environment of the original business, but now with the resources of a worldwide corporation, serving some of the most recognizable names in the auto industry.
Job Description
- Observe manufacturing processes and identify areas for process improvement, cost reduction, waste elimination, etc.
- Lead Lean events such as Gemba Walks, Kaizen events, etc. to optimize production capabilities
- Develop and implement CapEx projects based on needs for new machinery and plant equipment
- Observe the CNC manufacturing process and work with machine operators and other engineering personnel to improve processes
- Troubleshoot on the floor as issues arise with machines and machine personnel
- Operate company's ERP system to serve customer needs and communicate effectively with clients
- Occasionally travel to the client's South Haven, MI facility

The Successful Applicant
- Experience working with CNC machines/general exposure to the CNC manufacturing process
- Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles is a must
- Experience leading/working on Capital Expenditure projects
- Background in an industrial environment is a plus
- Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus
- Must be open to occasional travel to South Haven, MI facility (2 hours from Downers Grove)
