About Our Client

Our client for the Manufacturing Engineer - Continuous Improvement opportunity is a contract manufacturer for many of the leading global consumer goods brands. This company is in rapid growth mode and looking for a strong manufacturing engineer to drive process improvement.

The Manufacturing Engineer - Continuous Improvement will report to the Plant General Manager and be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives and project management related to new equipment and manufacturing lines, process improvement and machine design and layout. This is a highly visible role and looking for someone seeking growth opportunities in plant leadership in the future.

Job Description

  • Drive continuous improvement strategies, cost savings, productivity improvement
  • Conduct root cause analysis and investigation/implementation of resolutions of quality issues
  • Identify cost savings initiatives for production processes
  • Work with operators and manufacturing engineering team to troubleshoot equipment and manufacturing lines
  • New equipment production runs to develop standard operating procedures to ensure safety of production staff
  • Review, update, and develop training documentation
  • Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized as an implementer of engineering principles and /or scientific analysis in meeting unit objectives.
  • Design and Development: Initiate, design, develop and optimize Manufacturing/Converting assets and supporting processes
  • Identify design and create detailed specifications for equipment and other production related processes or methods.
  • Create process flow diagrams, CAD drawings.
  • Proposing new projects to improve and upgrade packing equipment.
  • Quoting new packaging requirements in support of cost estimating for potential new business.
  • Maintaining a safe and secure workplace and meet environmental site requirements;
  • Support the EHS&S objectives and targets, and any specific action plans or management programs assigned;

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Process, Chemical or related
  • 3-7 years of experience in manufacturing roles with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, Six Sigma
  • Six sigma, continuous improvement, and lean background
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong presentations and communication skills required
  • Customer facing experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Highly motivated with a sense of urgency to meet customer deadlines
