The Manufacturing Engineer will develop and continuously improve manufacturing processes for my client's production facility based in Addison, IL. You'll implement LEAN/CI tools to drive cost savings and increased production efficiency, as well as develop tooling to aid manufacturing.

Our client, an aerospace and industrial markets supplier based just west of Chicago, was established more than 80 years ago. They are a family run business and describe themselves as a one stop shop where they can serve their customers in full service style. They currently reside in an 80,000+ sq. ft. facility with 60+ CNC machines supporting production for high mix/ low volume projects. Job Description

  • Design, implement and monitor manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry safety and environmental standards.
  • Conduct training sessions for production staff on new processes and equipment.
  • Maintain documentation of all manufacturing processes and improvements.
  • Participate in product design reviews to ensure manufacturability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.

The Successful Applicant

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Prior experience in fastener manufacturing is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and industry standards.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software for design of custom tooling/fixtures to aid production.
  • Proven experience utilizing LEAN/CI/Six Sigma tools to drive production cost savings.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • The ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with various departments.
