Job Description

In this role you will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Scheduling, budgeting, and completing responsibilities for new product projects.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate cost information, reviewing design for manufacturing, concurrent engineering, and production impact.
  • Designing, ordering, and implementing tooling while coordinating materials, equipment, and methods for cost-effective production.
  • Creating and maintaining the Production Documentation Package.
  • Leading Kaizens and implementing lean tools such as 5S, Poka-Yoke, Visual Management, TPM, Quick Change, Single Piece Flow, and Kanban.
  • Optimizing existing products and processes to reduce scrap, rework, labor costs, setup time, quality costs, and lead time.
  • Conducting experiments for optimal manufacturing processes and preparing cost analyses for tooling justification.
  • Troubleshooting tooling, processes, and equipment internally and externally for assigned products.
  • Investigating, justifying, and coordinating the purchase, installation, and introduction of new capital equipment.
  • Performing other related duties as required.

The Successful Applicant

A successful candidate will have:

  • 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience
  • Capital project experience a plus
  • Injection molding/ plastics experience a plus
  • Standardization or global experience a plus
  • CAD design and drawing interpretation skills
