About Our Client

Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team. As a leader in the precision machining and in-house assembly in North Chicago suburbs, our client serves customers in the heavy trucking, oil & gas, and armaments markets. As business has continued to grow and expected to make a 13% increase in revenue this year, they team is looking to bring this Manufacturing Engineer to help lead the team and given the opportunity to grow within or outside the team.

Description

  • Work to meet your personal manufacturing engineering KPIs.
  • Monthly, investigate and provide root cause analysis when KPIs are not met to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Implement approved corrective actions (i.e. establishing methods, fixturing, cost savings).
  • Deploying Lean Tools to improve employee safety, processes and decrease cost.
  • Problem solves gaps and redesign. Implement mistake-proofing concepts to prevent product defects.
  • Analyze and design fixtures, processes and recommend automation of process including new equipment.
  • Ensure vendors/subcontractors are manufacturing products according to product specifications.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing product specifications are developed and testing procedures are in place before utilizing vendors/subcontractors.
  • Provide input and support during the selection process of new vendors.

The Successful Applicant

  • Must Have Experience
    • 3+ years developing Assembly processes, methods and standard work
    • 3+ years cost saving development and documentation
    • Bachelor's degree
    • SolidWORKS experience
  • 6 sigma green belt preferred
