About Our Client

My client headquartered near Streamwood, IL is a manufacturer of electronic display products for customers across a variety of industries such as consumer electronics and medical device. This is a smaller facility offering the culture and feel of a family firm, but with the track record and customer base of a much larger organization. Their impressive client base has ensured them growth and stability over the last 20 years, and they seek a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team.

Job Description

  • Read and understand product drawings/schematics from other engineers.
  • Lead problem solving efforts to resolve production problems.
  • Work cross-functionally with quality and engineering teams to drive process improvements.
  • Develop proper manufacturing, testing, and quality control standard work.
  • Conduct in process checks on the production line to ensure standard work is followed and work-in-process, finished products, and packing meet established quality requirements.
  • Testing of electrical fixtures. Conduct final inspection on finished products and record test data.
  • Develop and improve monthly reports to quantify Production improvement and highlight areas requiring additional attention.
  • Determine the process capabilities and outgoing quality levels of all major products.
  • Identify process improvement and optimization opportunities.
  • Develop process standards as well as training programs for machine staff.

The Successful Applicant

  • BS in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Two or more years of process or production management or relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, techniques, and philosophies.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of completing tasks with limited supervision.
  • Working knowledge of soldering applications and techniques.
  • Ability to read electronic schematics and have good working knowledge of electronics theory is a plus.
  • Experience with LCD, VFD, OLED or TFT display technologies is a plus.
  • Desire and ability to work in a dynamic environment, developing flexible solutions based on business needs
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
