They are committed to innovation, process excellence, and delivering reliable, cost-effective solutions to their customers.Job DescriptionFacilitate the introduction of newly acquired customer programs by conducting DFM analysis, recommending design changes to enhance manufacturability and quality, and reduce product costs. Perform PFMEA and develop control plans to ensure high product quality. Develop manufacturing processes and work instructions for product assembly and train operations teams on product performance and manufacturing processes.Collaborate directly with outside vendors to develop tooling and tooling strategies for both existing and new products. Evaluate tooling for A/R ratios, layouts, clearances, and operator ergonomics, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.Participate in daily stand-up meetings to discuss ongoing manufacturing challenges, follow-up with process changes, and make necessary modifications to existing routes and process documentation.Work closely with cross-functional teams to address quality challenges and implement process improvements as needed.Communicate directly with assigned customer contacts to discuss engineering challenges and design-related manufacturing concerns. Ensure these challenges are effectively communicated with management and the Program-Management Team.Engage in total quality management and continuous improvement (CI) activities. Analyze process and test yield data to identify opportunities for improvement, and modify fixtures, tooling, and processes to enhance yield. Participate in plant Kaizen events and carry out root cause corrective actions (5 Whys, 8D) as needed.Design work cells for system-level assemblies that meet the program's takt time requirements. Utilize Lean manufacturing principles and tools to continuously improve work cell performance. Conduct labor studies and work cell capacity analyses to meet production volume requirements.Perform mechanical operations and demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, torque drivers, drills, files, and small hand-held power tools.Evaluate and recommend new processing techniques and equipment. Assist in reviewing and comparing new process equipment acquisitions.
