My client is a global manufacturer of hydraulic equipment, serving customers across automotive, agricultural, aerospace, & medical industries. They have cemented themselves as a premier name in their space, and continue to grow organically and through acquisitions. Their booming facility near Crestwood, IL is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join the team!

Job Description

  • Lead in optimization of set-up cycle times and improvement of productivity standards by teaming with machine operators and set up personnel
  • Set-up and troubleshoot CNC machines and provide support/maintenance of said machines
  • Train operators on SOP's and develop work instructions easily interpreted by those in charge of machinery related functions
  • Review customer specifications and drawings for manufacturability and cost
  • Act as liaison to customers to ensure needs are being met
  • Provide technical support to customers on issues of design and manufacturing
  • Recommend design modifications to improve quality, cost, and manufacturability
  • Write specifications for design, testing, and manufacturing of hand tools
  • Develop and implement LEAN/Continuous Improvement initiatives to reduce waste and lower cycle times
  • Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers
  • Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, or equivalent level of experience/education
  • 4+ years manufacturing engineer experience, including tooling and fixturing design background
  • Knowledge of using ERP systems
  • 3+ years experience working with CNC lathes and/or mills
  • CAD and Microsoft Office skills are required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are required.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
