Our client is a mid-sized machine shop in Wheeling, IL that has displayed strong growth over the last 10 years. Founded over 40 years ago, this client is a midsize supplier and has a family culture. The client operates mainly in the medical device space, supplying leading firms in the industry.

Job Description

  • Support production with layout/machine setups, troubleshooting, process improvement, operator training and other functions.
  • Support engineering with part updates, machine layouts and programs, as well as other functions.
  • Attend trade shows to gain knowledge on different and new technology within the manufacturing field
  • Suggest modifications to customer specifications to simplify engineering and manufacturing problems
  • Generate blueprints, tool layouts and programs on newly awarded business
  • Generate new business quotations for customers; includes cycle layouts and choosing proper tooling for the job
  • Communicate with customers throughout entire quoting and manufacturing process

The Successful Applicant

  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience with inspection devices, specifically micrometers and calipers
  • Experience with drawing software, Solidworks is a plus.
  • Experience with computer and/or machine programming, MasterCAM, GibbsCAM and Esprit a plus
  • Machining experience required, HAAS and Swiss is a plus
  • Hands-on, self-starter attitude with ability to work autonomously
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

  • Base salary between $7,000 and $90,000, dependent on experience
