Manufacturing Site Lead - Automotive - Springfield, MA

The Manufacturing Engineer Site Lead's responsibilities will include the following tasks:

  Lead and manage projects and Manufacturing Engineers to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
• 
  
  Oversee budgets, tooling design, and implementation to support production efficiency.
• 
  
  Promote a team-oriented culture focused on respect, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• 
  
  Ensure compliance with safety standards; collaborate with Safety Manager to enhance programs.
• 
  
  Maintain quality standards; coordinate with Quality and Engineering teams for continuous improvement.
• 
  
  Guarantee on-time delivery to internal and external customers.
• 
  
  Evaluate manufacturing processes for cost-effectiveness and efficiency improvements.
• 
  
  Mentor team members and lead production-focused engineering efforts.
• 
  
  Implement lean manufacturing tools (Kanban, Kaizen, SMED, 5S) to drive improvements.
• 
  
  Demonstrate strong personal accountability and uphold company policies and ethical standards.
• 
  
  Lead individual and team projects independently with minimal supervision.
• 
  
  Design tools and dies using Solid Edge CAD with focus on DFM principles.
• 
  
  Evaluate and improve tool performance, estimate tool life, and retrain operators as needed.
• 
  
  Design low-cost automation systems, including controls, pneumatics, and PLC programming.
• 
  
  Conduct process analysis, FMEA, and simulations; manage experiments and project timelines.
• 
  
  Write equipment specs, qualification plans, and validation protocols using statistical methods.
• 
  
  Install and commission tools, dies, and equipment.
• 
  
  Review technical bulletins/specs and recommend relevant applications.
• 
  
  Participate in ISO/OSHA audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• 
  
  Optimize workforce utilization, space planning, and workflow through layout design.
