About Our Client
Our engineering and manufacturing division at MP Boston has recently partnered with a reputable contract manufacturing medical device company that has a proven track record with design, engineering, and manufacturing of complex single-use devices, electromechanical devices and active implantable for OEM's requiring a full service contract manufacturing partner.
Job Description
- Participate in the mechanical design and development of various medical devices.
- Participate and lead in the team interface with the client.
- Generate solid models, drawings and specifications.
- Prepare and execute characterization and environmental tests to verify the design and performance of the devices.
- Interface with vendors for critical component selection and tool qualification
- Define and develop processes related to the design, analysis, test, manufacture, quality and productivity
- The individual will be responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements and cost reductions to products manufactured for commercial distribution.

The Successful Applicant
- 5 to 10 years of product design/development experience.
- Proven experience in working with teams of engineers.
- Proficiency in Solidworks
- Experience in the medical device industry is required.
- A working understanding of FDA QSR and ISO-13485 principles and demonstrated skill in integrating these into the engineering discipline.
- Experience in capital equipment, sizing motors, pneumatics design and electromechanical device design desired.
- Experience in the design and development of hand held instruments (e.g. laparoscopic) as well as implantable devices desired.
- Demonstrated verbal communication and technical writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
