About Our Client
My client is an established mechanical contractor headquartered in St. Louis with a varied portfolio of work in multiple sectors: Commercial, Institutional, and Industrial construction. They have a strong backlog and upcoming pipeline from repeat and new clients. Due to their growth, they are looking to expand their project management team in the industrial division. With how the company operates, this person will not be pigeonholed into one type of project and they provide opportunity to operate in different divisions as well. They are targeting an experienced project manager in the mechanical space with client-facing experience to grow client relationships and run projects effectively. They have been in business for over 100 years and currently average over $300M in annual revenue. They have specialties in HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Refrigeration, Sheet metal, and Utilities.
Job Description
- Manage client relationships and partner with them from project conception to completion
- Lead meetings on project proposals, updates, and new business ventures
- Create budgets and schedules pertaining to the project
- Review and process change orders
- Ensure everyone has up to date designs and schematics
- Work directly with internal engineering department on any necessary changes
- This role may have opportunity to assist with mentoring and training new employees to the business
- Minimal travel required, probably around 1-2 days per month

The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's Degree in applicable field (Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, etc)
- 5+ years of experience in the mechanical sector as a project manager or with a general contractor specializing in healthcare, industrial, or institutional projects
- Experience running projects $5M+ in scope
- Experience with projects in HVAC, Process Piping, and Plumbing
- Industrial project experience - Manufacturing facilities, power plants, warehouses, data centers, etc.
- Client-facing in past roles, partnering with clients from early stages through the completion and closeout of the project
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple departments and teams both internally and externally
- Organization is key in this role
