Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with production teams to identify root causes of issues and implement effective technical solutions across machining, assembly, and inspection processes.
  • Accurately quote new parts based on existing manufacturing capabilities and equipment.
  • Apply engineering principles to develop and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives for both new and existing parts.
  • Oversee and direct new product introduction (NPI) projects as needed.
  • Determine tooling requirements, including both standard and custom solutions.
  • Provide technical support to customers, offering product design feedback and manufacturing recommendations.
  • Prepare clear and detailed work instructions; train team members on proper procedures.
  • Generate supplemental documentation to support manufacturing in meeting customer specifications.
  • Create detailed technical drawings using CAD software.
  • Contribute to the development and achievement of departmental goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Continuous Improvement, Cost Reduction strategies, and 5S practices.
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and respond constructively to feedback and supervision.
  • Handle all materials and components with care to ensure quality and prevent damage or loss of finished products.

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including CNC and manual machine operation, with CAD design and programming experience.
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex technical drawings. Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, including set-up, operations, and control language. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal teams and external customers.
