Job Description

  • Oversee all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) scopes on occupied rehab projects
  • Manage and coordinate MEP subcontractors, vendors, and field crews
  • Plan and execute phased construction in occupied residential environments
  • Ensure compliance with NYCHA, HPD, and other city agency requirements
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems
  • Maintain project schedules, logistics, and sequencing related to MEP work
  • Enforce jobsite safety standards and quality control measures
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and ownership
  • Communicate effectively with residents and site staff to minimize disruption

The Successful Applicant

A successful MEP Superintendent should have:

  • Proven experience as an MEP Superintendent on occupied rehab projects
  • Strong background in Affordable Housing construction
  • Direct experience working on projects for NYCHA, HPD, or similar agencies
  • Deep understanding of MEP systems, codes, and inspections in NYC
  • Ability to manage multiple trades and tight schedules simultaneously
  • Comfortable working in live residential environments
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, hands-on management style
