The company is a long‑established designer and manufacturer of high‑performance interconnect solutions, specializing in connectors, medical cable assemblies, flexible circuits, and custom‑engineered interconnect products for demanding applications

Job Description

  • Oversee and direct the operations of an internal tool shop, including teams of toolmakers and mold design engineers.
  • Perform DFM assessments on new product designs, evaluating draft angles, parting lines, undercuts, and potential tooling challenges.
  • Create and/or evaluate injection mold designs for medical connector components, over‑molded strain relief features, and complete cable assemblies.
  • Contribute to tooling strategy by defining elements such as gating, venting, cooling layouts, surface finish requirements, and mechanisms like slides and lifters.
  • Collaborate with product engineering teams to ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate with both domestic and international mold suppliers throughout tool design, fabrication, debugging, and qualification phases.
  • Support sustaining engineering by addressing tooling concerns, improving yields, and implementing design refinements.

The Successful Applicant

  • More than ten years of hands‑on experience in mold design, tooling, or toolmaking.
  • An associate degree or higher in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical discipline-or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D CAD modeling.
  • Background working within medical device manufacturing or other regulated production environments.
  • Strong capability in performing Design‑for‑Manufacturability (DFM) assessments and evaluating tooling feasibility.
  • Experience collaborating with manufacturing partners across global locations.
