About Our Client

Our client has built millions of sq ft of construction projects throughout North America. Due to a high level of growth throughout the Southeast Michigan market, they are looking to add a Multifamily Project Engineer (Construction) to their team.

Job Description

What the Multifamily Project Engineer (Construction) is responsible for assisting project managers with establishing scopes of work, schedules, shop drawing and submittal reviews as well as coordination with subcontractors. Other tasks include:

  • Actively participates in the sales process by preparing information (schedules, budgets, scopes of work) to be utilized in securing new work.
  • Stays current with top industry software and technology packages: maintains current technology and makes recommendations for future technology acquisitions.
  • RFI's
  • Maintains estimating databases and templates (estimating templates, scope of work templates, etc.).
  • Maintain and distribute project documentation
  • Procurement
  • Field operations and safety

The Successful Applicant

Preferred Certifications for the Multifamily Project Engineer (Construction)

  • 3+ years experience in Construction industry
  • Ability to manage historical data for use in preparing future estimates
  • Commercial and/or Retail project experience, preferred
  • Ability to Develop strong relationships with key subcontractors.
  • Driven by the desire to assemble the most cost effective solution to a customer's needs within given quality and scheduling objectives.
  • Design-build experience preferred by not required
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture, required
