About Our Client

Our client is a leading, cutting-edge manufacturer of engineered metal products, serving customers in the aerospace & defense industry. Working with some of the best known brands in aviation, they supply high-quality machined components advancing flight technology. Due to exciting expansion, they are looking to bring on an experienced Operations Manager to oversee all functions within their machining department.

Job Description

Lead cross-functional teams in Planning, Purchasing, Stockroom, and Operations, managing 3-10 supervisors and up to 60 employees
Drive product line performance through the 3 value drivers (PPP), ensuring alignment with company goals
Collaborate on product strategy and support R&D initiatives for new and emerging products
Develop and implement manufacturing process plans, including staffing, materials, tooling, and equipment
Establish and maintain production and quality control standards, budgets, and cost controls
Ensure timely delivery, cost targets, and quality benchmarks are consistently met
Coordinate with internal departments and external suppliers to optimize resource utilization
Analyze production reports and resolve operational challenges to minimize delays and costs
Maintain accurate production data and generate reports to support business decisions
Build and maintain a robust succession plan for all direct reports
Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and customer requirements, including ITAR/EAR standards

The Successful Applicant

A successful Operations Manager should have:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; or 6+ years of relevant experience
Proven leadership experience in manufacturing or operations management
Prior leadership experience within a precision machining setting
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Proficiency in manufacturing software, payroll systems, spreadsheets, and word processing tools
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs
Familiarity with aerospace and defense industry regulations is a plus
