About Our Client

Our client is a leading, cutting-edge manufacturer of engineered metal products, serving customers in the aerospace & defense industry. Working with some of the best known brands in aviation, they supply high-quality machined components advancing flight technology. Due to exciting expansion, they are looking to bring on an experienced Operations Manager to oversee all functions within their machining department.

Job Description

  • Lead cross-functional teams in Planning, Purchasing, Stockroom, and Operations, managing 3-10 supervisors and up to 60 employees
  • Drive product line performance through the 3 value drivers (PPP), ensuring alignment with company goals
  • Collaborate on product strategy and support R&D initiatives for new and emerging products
  • Develop and implement manufacturing process plans, including staffing, materials, tooling, and equipment
  • Establish and maintain production and quality control standards, budgets, and cost controls
  • Ensure timely delivery, cost targets, and quality benchmarks are consistently met
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external suppliers to optimize resource utilization
  • Analyze production reports and resolve operational challenges to minimize delays and costs
  • Maintain accurate production data and generate reports to support business decisions
  • Build and maintain a robust succession plan for all direct reports
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and customer requirements, including ITAR/EAR standards

The Successful Applicant

A successful Operations Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; or 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven leadership experience in manufacturing or operations management
  • Prior leadership experience within a precision machining setting
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in manufacturing software, payroll systems, spreadsheets, and word processing tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs
  • Familiarity with aerospace and defense industry regulations is a plus
