This is a strategic leadership role with a company known for its commitment to quality, client satisfaction, and repeat business. The Operations Manager will oversee project execution, manage concrete group personnel, and collaborate closely with clients and internal stakeholders to efficient outcomes nationwide. Ideally based in Alabama but can be located near any of the company's 9 offices, travel as needed to ensure success of projects.

About Our Client

Our client stands as a national General Contractor and Construction Manager recognized for their mastery in executing premium ventures across the country. They specialize in large projects across both the Federal and Commercial markets. With over 40 years of tenure and a valuation exceeding $1B, this company is relied on by numerous clients and is always looking to add qualified individuals to the team who are interested in growing their careers.

The company has a self-perform concrete division responsible for packages up to $30M in individual project value, but averaging $3M - $5M each. At any given moment, they typically run 5-6 projects simultaneously. The Concrete group is only five years old, and they are expecting tremendous growth over the next several years.

They have nine offices nationally: Birmingham, Huntsville, Nashville, Atlanta, Charleston, D.C., Houston, and Austin. The leader we are seeking can be based in any of these locations given their willingness to travel.

Job Description

  • Lead and mentor project managers, superintendents, and field staff
  • Ensure the success of multiple concurrent concrete projects nationwide
  • Ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, and safety standards
  • Maintain strong client relationships and drive repeat business
  • Implement process improvements and scalable operational strategies

The Successful Applicant

The successful Operations Manager will have:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field-of-study
  • 15+ years of Construction industry experience, with a focus on self-perform / in-house concrete
  • Proven leadership in managing teams and delivering multi-site projects
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, scheduling, and budgeting
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Based in or willing to relocate to: Birmingham, Huntsville, Nashville, Atlanta, Houston, Austin, Charleston, or D.C.
