We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and improve our manufacturing operations in Connecticut. This role is responsible for leading all aspects of our production operations, optimizing workflows, ensuring quality standards, and driving efficiency and productivity.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Oversight: Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet production schedules, quality, and cost targets. Coordinate with teams across production, quality, and supply chain to ensure smooth workflows.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and increase production speed without compromising quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Work with the quality team to ensure products meet company and client standards, conducting root cause analyses and corrective actions as needed.
  • Resource Management: Manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet production goals. Oversee workforce scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement among the team.
  • Cost Management: Develop and manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation for cost-effective production operations.
  • Performance Tracking: Set, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for production efficiency, quality, and safety. Use data to drive strategic decisions and improvements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the leadership team on strategy development, capacity planning, and meeting client expectations.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. MBA or similar advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in an electronics or high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Solid knowledge of production equipment and manufacturing software (ERP systems, Lean, Six Sigma tools).
