Job Description

  • Case File Management: Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files, ensuring all relevant documents and evidence are readily accessible for attorneys.
  • Discovery Coordination: Assist in gathering and managing discovery materials, including reviewing documents, preparing exhibits, and handling e-discovery.
  • Document Drafting and Review: Draft legal documents, pleadings, discovery responses, and correspondence under attorney supervision. Proofread and cite-check documents for accuracy.
  • Legal Research: Conduct research related to intellectual property law, including patent and trademark regulations, case law, and procedural rules.
  • Trial Preparation: Prepare trial binders, organize exhibit lists, and support attorneys with pre-trial filings and logistics. Assist with coordinating trial logistics as needed.
  • Calendar Management: Track court deadlines and schedule client and attorney meetings, depositions, and court dates.
  • Administrative Support: Perform administrative duties, including time entry, expense tracking, and billing support.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field; paralegal certification is a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in IP litigation, ideally with patent and trademark cases.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools, case management software, and e-discovery platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
