About Our Client

Boutique, full-service, law firm with just under 100 attorney's - in-office position (occasional home working permitted) based in their Long Island (Garden City) office, the firm has three other US offices.

Job Description

Responsibilities as Trusts & Estates Paralegal vary and include:

  • Assist Attorneys in necessary aspects of managing large trusts and estates
  • Form 706 filing
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Conducting legal research and draft legal documents related to trust administration
  • Collaborate with Attorneys, Accountants, and Clients
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date trust records and documentation
  • Handle trust-related inquiries from beneficiaries, attorneys, and other stakeholders Assistant will provide administrative support to the Practice Groups and assist with various legal tasks
  • Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, taking detailed messages, managing emails and processing new cases with calendering all follow-up matters
  • Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Draft correspondence to clients
  • Some phone contact with clients

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Associate Attorney will have demonstrable experience:

  • 2+ years' law firm experience required
  • Experience in trust administration or a related field
  • Strong mathematical/accounting/tax skills
  • Proficiency in legal drafting, research, and writing
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Fully versed in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong clerical skills for organizing and maintaining trust records, including
    managing confidential information
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of Form 706 filing
