Job Description

  1. Payroll Processing:
    • Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including but not limited to, data entry, payroll calculations, and verification of timesheets.
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, including salaried, hourly, and contracted workers.
    • Review and reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues that arise in a timely manner.
    • Stay updated on relevant payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

  2. Benefits Administration:
    • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.
    • Coordinate with HR and benefits providers to ensure accurate enrollment, changes, and terminations in benefit plans.
    • Reconcile benefits statements and resolve any discrepancies.

  3. Reporting and Compliance:
    • Prepare and analyze payroll reports for management review, including payroll summaries, tax reports, and employee earnings statements.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
    • Assist in the preparation of year-end tax filings and W-2 forms.

  4. Documentation and Record-Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
    • Develop and update payroll procedures and documentation as needed.
    • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management in a professional and timely manner.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and accounting, preferably in a financial services firm or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
