This is a strategic role and will oversee all aspects of payroll tax reporting, compliance, filings, and audits while managing a small, high-performing team.$120k-$130k + bonus 4 days a week onsite in Manhattan (downtown)Job DescriptionOversee all aspects of payroll tax compliance for U.S. (W-2) and Canadian (T4) employeesEnsure timely and accurate federal, state, and local payroll tax filings and paymentsLead the year-end tax process, including reconciliation and submission of W-2s and T4sManage and mentor a team of two, providing day-to-day oversight, guidance, and developmentServe as the subject matter expert on all payroll tax matters, including regulatory changes and audit preparationCollaborate cross-functionally with Payroll, HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure data accuracy and complianceOwn the payroll tax functionality in Workday and continuously optimize processes for efficiency and accuracyRespond to tax agency notices, audits, and inquiries in a timely and professional mannerMaintain strong internal controls and documentation to support compliance standardsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
