Job Description

  • Collect and review weekly timesheet data for correct coding and payroll rates
  • Process payroll for multiple states, unions, and federal contracts for 150-200 employees
  • Prepare and process all payroll deductions, taxes, fringe benefits, and expenses
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation, transactions, and employee benefits
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries and provide administrative support for new hires
  • Ensure compliance with union agreements, Davis-Bacon, and prevailing wage laws
  • Collaborate with various departments on payroll-related matters
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports, such as 401k and salary tracker reports
  • Upload union benefits to appropriate portals and process certified payroll reports

The Successful Applicant

  • 5+ years of payroll experience in the construction industry, preferably with union and multi-state payroll
  • In-depth knowledge of Davis-Bacon-Prevailing Wage and federal construction project requirements
  • Experience with payroll software such as Sage or Foundation
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage payroll in a confidential manner
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize tasks under tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and able to collaborate effectively in a team environment
