The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing payroll for our U.S. employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. This individual will also play a key role in audits, reporting, and supporting compensation-related initiatives across the firm.

Our client is a fast-growing financial services firm specializing in investment management, private equity, and strategic advisory.

Job Description



  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for salaried and hourly employees


  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations


  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including garnishments, deductions, and PTO accruals


  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner


  • Assist with payroll audits and provide support for internal/external reporting


  • Partner with HR and Finance teams on compensation changes, bonuses, and year-end processing


  • Prepare and reconcile payroll journal entries in coordination with accounting

The Successful Applicant



  • 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in financial services or a corporate environment


  • Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations (multi-state experience a plus)


  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now (or similar payroll systems)


  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills


  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, HR, or a related field preferred; CPP certification a plus
