Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsGreat opportunity to grow your careerExcellent benefits packageAbout Our ClientOur client is a third generation family owned Commercial General Contractor with a strong project pipeline.Job DescriptionValue Engineering:Analyze project designs, materials, and construction methods to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.Recommend alternative materials, methods, and design modifications to optimize project value while meeting performance and quality standards.Conduct cost-benefit analyses and prepare value engineering reports to support preconstruction decision-making.Specification Development and Review:Develop and maintain construction specifications, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.Review and modify specifications to support sustainable practices and incorporate value-engineering recommendations.Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure specifications align with the overall project goals and requirements.Collaboration and Coordination:Work closely with preconstruction and project management teams to provide input on material selection, construction methods, and specification changes.Collaborate with clients, architects, and consultants to align on project scope, requirements, and specification standards.Facilitate communication between design and construction teams to address constructability issues and specification questions.Quality Assurance and Compliance:Ensure specifications meet industry standards, regulatory codes, and project-specific requirements.Conduct thorough reviews of project documents to identify any discrepancies or gaps in specifications.Develop and maintain best practices for specification writing and value engineering processes within the preconstruction department.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
