Job Description

  • Lead the preconstruction and project planning process, including the responsibility for construction cost estimates, schedule, logistical planning, and procurement.
  • Analyze blueprints and other documents to prepare time frames, costs, material, and labor estimates
  • Prepare bid packages, development budgets, and analyze subcontractor bids for use in conceptual and bid proposal estimates
  • Establish pricing and conduct comparison activities
  • Maintain and update department database with current and accurate pricing from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, industry data, etc.
  • Meet directly with clients and end-users throughout the design process to develop and update preconstruction plans.
  • Establish and maintain strong subcontractor relationships

The Successful Applicant

  • 5 years+ of commercial construction estimating experience
  • Conceptual, hard bid, and design/bid/build estimating experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management/Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • Additional, relevant estimating experience will be considered
  • Must have strong computer skills and be well versed in estimating software such as OnScreen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Timberline
  • Additional Preference for experience in Sketchup or similar 3D modeling software
