Job Description

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with firm-wide financial objectives.
  • Partner with attorneys and business development teams to prepare pricing proposals for new and existing clients.
  • Analyze historical billing data, profitability trends, and market benchmarks to guide pricing decisions.
  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), including fixed fees, success-based fees, and blended rates.
  • Provide insights on client profitability, matter budgets, and cost structures to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of pricing strategies, recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Assist in financial reporting related to client and matter profitability, leveraging tools like Excel, SQL, Power BI, or other financial analytics software.
  • Support the annual rate-setting process by evaluating market trends and competitive intelligence.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, pricing, or similar roles within a professional services or law firm setting.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling).
  • Experience with financial systems and analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL, Elite 3E, Aderant, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with attorneys and senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
