About Our Client

My client is a leading Multi Billion dollar Fortune 500 Global manufacturer that is renowned in its space. This role will be responsible for a key corporate sourcing function that will be to develop and implement category management and sourcing strategies for chemicals.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for chemical products that align with business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts and agreements, and manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products and services.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify cost-saving opportunities, and make recommendations to management on sourcing strategies and supply chain optimization.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements, and provide guidance and support on procurement-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data and reporting, and analyze spend patterns and supplier performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, and maintain a high standard of ethical conduct and integrity in all procurement activities.
  • Manage procurement budgets and resources, and make recommendations for cost savings and process improvements.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, supply chain management, or chemistry.
  • At least 6+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years of experience in chemical procurement.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical products and markets, with experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Experience in managing procurement budgets and resources, and making recommendations for process improvements.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management preferred.

What's on Offer

Target Compensation for the Procurement Category Manager - Chemicals is $100,000 - $125,000 base salary + 10% bonus.
