Job Description



  1. Strategic Sourcing:
    • Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and co-manufacturing requirements.
    • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and pricing.
    • Continuously assess market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry dynamics to optimize procurement strategies.


  2. Supplier Management:
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Monitor supplier performance, conducting regular evaluations to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and cost standards.
    • Address any supplier-related issues promptly, implementing corrective actions as necessary to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.


  3. Cost Optimization:
    • Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or service levels.
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives such as supplier consolidation, value engineering, and alternative sourcing strategies.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to forecast demand, optimize inventory levels, and minimize procurement expenses.


  4. Quality Assurance:
    • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Compliance teams to establish and enforce rigorous quality standards for all procured materials.
    • Conduct supplier audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    • Drive continuous improvement in supplier quality processes, leveraging data-driven insights and performance metrics.


  5. Contract Management:
    • Manage supplier contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
    • Monitor contract expiration dates and renewal opportunities, renegotiating terms as needed to align with evolving business needs.
    • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to mitigate contractual risks and ensure regulatory compliance.


  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with Production, Supply Chain, and R&D teams to align procurement activities with production schedules, inventory requirements, and product development initiatives.
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings and projects to drive synergy and efficiency across the co-manufacturing process.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management within the Food and Beverage industry, with specific experience in co-manufacturing operations.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
  • Solid understanding of procurement best practices, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements within the Food and Beverage sector.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.

What's on Offer

Target compensation for the Procurement Manager is $120,000 - $140,000 base salary + 15% bonus and equity. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
