The Procurement Manager - Packaging will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for all packaging materials. This role involves developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the cost-effective procurement of high-quality packaging solutions that meet the company's standards.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for packaging materials, including corrugate, plastics, labels, and other packaging components.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure the best possible terms in quality, cost, delivery, and service.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in packaging procurement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Product Development, Operations, Supply Chain) to understand packaging requirements and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts, ensuring continuous supply for production.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining or improving quality and sustainability standards.
  • Manage supplier performance through regular reviews, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
  • Lead or support new packaging development projects, including supplier selection and qualification.
  • Ensure adherence to legal, environmental, and ethical standards in procurement processes.
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement metrics, spend analysis, and savings achievements to senior management.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in procurement, with a focus on packaging materials.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of cost savings and value creation.
  • In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, suppliers, and market dynamics, particularly in corrugate packaging.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commitment to sustainability and ethical procurement practices.
