About Our Client

As the Production Planning Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production planning to ensure the efficient utilization of resources and the timely delivery of products to customers. You will lead a team of production planners and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute production schedules that align with customer demand, inventory targets, and operational capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production planning, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to optimize manufacturing processes.

Job Description

  1. Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and timely completion of production orders.

  2. Capacity Planning: Assess production capacity and resource constraints to optimize production schedules, identify bottlenecks, and allocate resources effectively to meet production targets.

  3. Inventory Management: Work closely with inventory control teams to manage inventory levels, minimize excess inventory, and prevent stockouts while ensuring sufficient stock availability to meet customer demand.

  4. Material Planning: Collaborate with procurement teams to forecast material requirements, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules.

  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, engineering, and quality assurance, to coordinate production activities, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  6. Performance Monitoring: Monitor production performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, and inventory turnover, and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve production targets and KPIs.

  7. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and optimization of production planning workflows to increase efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.

  8. Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the production planning team, mentor team members, and foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of [7 years] of experience in production planning or manufacturing operations management, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production planning principles, capacity planning techniques, and inventory management concepts.
  • Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems; experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team, build effective relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, and drive results in a collaborative environment.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on achieving production targets, optimizing processes, and delivering operational excellence.
