Job Description

  • Lead and manage grid modernization programs across transmission and distribution systems
  • Oversee project portfolios including:
    • Distribution Automation (DA / FLISR)
    • Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
    • DER integration (solar, storage, EV infrastructure)
    • Grid hardening and resiliency upgrades
  • Manage cross-functional teams (engineering, construction, IT, operations)
  • Develop and track:
    • Program schedules
    • Budgets and forecasts
    • Resource plans
  • Interface with utilities, regulators, and executive stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with utility standards and NERC reliability requirements
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies across program lifecycle
  • Drive vendor coordination and contractor performance
  • Support digital transformation initiatives including SCADA, OMS, and ADMS integration

The Successful Applicant

A successful Program Manager - Grid Modernization (T&D) should have:

  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Construction Management, or related)
  • 8-15+ years of experience in T&D, utilities, or power consulting
  • 5+ years managing large-scale programs or multiple projects
  • Experience with grid modernization initiatives (AMI, DA, DER, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of utility operations (distribution and/or transmission)
