As a Project Accountant, you will play a critical role in analyzing and managing project costs, working closely with project teams and the back-office to improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency. This is not a billing-entry role-you will focus on reviewing project costs, journal entries, reporting, and driving insights into spending patterns.

Job Description



  • Review and analyze project costs to ensure accuracy and completeness


  • Prepare and post journal entries related to project financials


  • Collaborate with project teams and back-office personnel to track project spending and cost performance


  • Use Procore software extensively for cost tracking and reporting (Procore experience is required)


  • Monitor subcontractor billing and cost integration in the system (but not responsible for owner billing packages)


  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in project cost management


  • Ensure compliance with lean waivers, insurance, and bonding requirements in project cost documentation


  • Communicate financial insights and cost variances to project managers and leadership

The Successful Applicant



  • 1-6 years of experience in project accounting within a General Contracting (GC) environment


  • Proficiency in Procore or similar project management software (required)


  • Experience working with multiple subcontractors and understanding of subcontractor billing processes


  • Familiarity with lean waivers, insurance, and bonding documentation


  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail


  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
