Our client is an established Development Firm focusing on the development of utility-scale solar and storage assets. They are seeking a hands-on Project Developer (Solar + Storage) to focus on developing projects from inception to COD across PJM, TVA, and ISO-NE.

Job Description

The Project Developer (Solar + Storage) will be responsible for:

  • Lead project development of utility scale solar assets from site origination through financial close/start of construction.
  • Site and permit facilities on agricultural land.
  • Negotiate lease agreements and purchase option agreements
  • Manage local community relationships through design and financing to secure additional support as needed for road use agreements, zoning support, and property tax incentives.
  • Manage internal and external resources (engineering, finance, legal, environmental, etc) to successfully develop projects.
  • Maintain an overview of the relevant business and competitive environment, including regulatory and environmental rules.

The Successful Applicant

The Project Developer (Solar + Storage) will have

  • 2-5 years of experience in the development of renewable energy projects - preferably solar.
  • Preference for someone with exposure to projects in MISO.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Environmental Science or related field
  • Impressive track record and experience in development of renewable energy projects
  • Previous applicable experience working in a commercial negotiation environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, multi-task, make decisions, prioritize, and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to work and communicate effectively with a cross-functional internal team, vendors, consultants, various project stakeholders, authorities having legal control, utilities, state agencies etc.

$100,000 - $140,000 base salary
