Job Description

The Project Engineer - Renewable Energy will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate with third-party consultants as necessary to prepare and submit interconnection requests for all projects
  • Monitor and respond to additional informational requests from grid operators and utilities regarding ongoing interconnection requests
  • Assist in transmission analyses by managing interconnection cost estimates and timelines
  • Develop site plans using site design software for permit applications, potentially including construction-level plans
  • Collaborate with the development team to prepare RFP responses for offtake and provide timely information to applicable offtakers
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates for new opportunities, collaborating with third-party vendors for construction and O&M estimates
  • Interface with local municipal planning boards and federal/state agencies as required
  • If appropriately licensed, act as Engineer of Record for assigned projects

The Successful Applicant

The Project Engineer - Renewable Energy will have

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Electrical Engineering
  • Possess 5 or more years of experience in engineering, land development, or sitework, with at least (2) years ideally in solar, wind, and/or battery storage projects
  • Capable of managing multiple projects across various grid operators' and utility jurisdictions simultaneously
  • Proficiency in utilizing Google Earth
  • Demonstrates a responsive attitude when interacting with staff, peers, management, investors, interconnecting entities, and clients
  • Preferably experienced with Autodesk Civil 3D or MicroStation InRoads
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Storm and Sanitary Analysis and/or HydroCAD software is advantageous
  • Preferably acquainted with or experienced in managing deliverables in PSSE and PSCAD
