About Our Client

Our client is a growing manufacturer of Medical Devices located in West Chicago. They have been in business for over 30 years and serve clients like Stryker and Medtronic. They seek a Project Manager to join their team as they continue to expand. This role will report to the VP of Product Development and help grow out their Project/Program Management team.

  • Plan, document, and provide project status reports on each project assigned by management
  • Ensure that project plans are based on complete specifications and customer expectations
  • Maintain project schedule, monitor progress against the schedule, and guide project decision making to adhere to schedule targets. Guides and resolves resource conflicts and coordinates with functional managers and customers/partners to insure on-time completion of deliverables.
  • Assess project risk in key areas (budget, schedule, quality/functionality, and cost) throughout the project. Communicate risks to the team and project stakeholders and coordinate mitigation activities.
  • Accountable for team's performance to project targets of schedule, project cost, product cost, feature completeness, and product quality. This includes understanding and managing technology, systems, and resources.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Negotiate and track changes to project scope and targets.
  • Maintain and consistently report program performance metrics to leadership.
  • Approve all project expenditures and report on variances as the program progresses.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships built on Performance and Integrity

The Successful Applicant

  • BS degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) related field or equivalent experience required
  • Experience in a fast paced production environment focused on multiplying the efforts of skilled labor through strategic automation
  • Product Line Management experience - demonstrated ability to manage entire product life cycle from new product development through end of life including revenue forecasting - basic P&L responsibility.
  • Experience leading teams in a direct report or matrixed environment.
  • Strong computer skills, highly proficient using standard PM tools including MS Office, Project, and Outlook.
