About Our Client

My client is a growing General Contractor with a multi-sector specialty. They are averaging about $60M in annual revenue, up from about $25M 2 years ago. From the growth they have seen in the last few years, they have just opened a new office in Kansas City. They have a strong emphasis in the Multifamily sector with projects in Affordable Housing, Senior Living, and Apartments/Condominiums. They have a current backlog of work that will get them through 2023 and more to come. They are looking to add and develop new talent for their team long term and have a multiple projects in Kansas City that this role will be managing both currently and in the future.

Job Description

  • Manage project from conception to completion
  • Assist with estimating and preconstruction activities
  • Partner with Superintendent for subcontractor reviews and selection
  • Lead proposal and update meetings with clients and other stakeholders
  • Develop schedules and budgets for project materials and subcontractor scopes
  • Coordinate with site managers and labor to ensure schedules and deadlines
  • Identify problems and risks with project before project launch
  • With effective communication, resolve and implement necessary changes to project budget or schedule
  • Obtain applicable permits and licenses
  • Interact with facility residents when necessary

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or applicable field
  • At least 5 years of experience with a commercial general contractor
  • Experience in leading projects over $15M in scope
  • Able to adapt, handle, and overcome challenges on the project
  • Works well in a team environment and is able to communicate effectively
  • Problem solver and strives to meet deadlines
  • Develops and maintains an effective system for completing duties
  • Able to lead a project from the ground up and can delegate tasks to ensure project completion
