The Assistant Project Manager - Construction, you will work closely with the Project Manager and site teams to ensure the successful planning, execution, and completion of residential construction projects. About Our Client

Our client is a New York City - based builder who specializes in high-end luxury residential construction projects. They self-perform most of their work and have their own millwork shop. They have been in business for 30+ years.

Job Description

The key responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager - Construction, are:



  • Project Coordination & Management
    • Assist in planning and managing residential construction projects from inception to completion.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
    • Support the preparation and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and documentation.



    Compliance & Permitting

    • Ensure adherence to NYC building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements.
    • Monitor compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations on-site.



    Communication & Reporting

    • Serve as a point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and building and construction codes.
    • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, status reports, and project documentation.
    • Assist in resolving conflicts or issues that arise during construction.



    Quality Control & Site Support

    • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality standards, and verify that project requirements are being met.
    • Assist in managing inspections, punch lists, and closeout processes.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Assistant Project Manager - Construction, will have the following qualifications:



  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 2+ years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on residential projects. NYC experience is a plus.



    Technical Skills

    • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and construction documentation tools.
    • Strong understanding of NYC building and construction codes



    Core Competencies

    • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.



    Certifications (Preferred)

    • OSHA 30 certification.
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is a plus.
