My client is a well-established and rapidly growing real estate and property management firm based in New Jersey. Their portfolio includes a diverse mix of commercial and residential properties across the state. They are looking for a detail-oriented, motivated Property Accountant to join their dynamic team and contribute to the financial health of their operations.

Job Description



  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.


  • Perform general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.


  • Reconcile tenant accounts, rent rolls, and CAM (Common Area Maintenance) charges.


  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.


  • Ensure compliance with company policies, lease terms, and financial controls.


  • Liaise with property managers and external auditors as needed.


  • Maintain organized financial records and support documentation.

The Successful Applicant



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.


  • 2-5 years of experience in property or real estate accounting.


  • Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate financial reporting.


  • Proficiency in property management/accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar).


  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.


  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.


  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
