Job Description

The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for collaborating with construction personnel to ensure Purchase Orders are accurate and that complete start packages are deliver on time. In addition, the Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

  • Produce complete start packages for new home construction projects
  • Prepare variance purchase orders along with extra work orders for construction
  • Analyze, adjust, and correct purchase orders for payment in a timely fashion
  • Maintain preferred supplier list for each community in the area of responsibility
  • Collaborate with Sales & Design Center to make sure start package is accurate and complete prior to the home beginning construction
  • Accurately enter all options under Change Orders after start of construction
  • Efficiently order appliances, materials, and other supplies as requested by Sales and/or Construction

The Successful Applicant

The Purchasing Coordinator will have at least a year of experience in the homebuilding industry, preferably in a purchasing or operations role. In addition, the Purchasing Coordinator must have the following:

  • 1-2 years of Purchasing and/or Operations experience within the construction industry
  • Knowledge of new home construction process and the residential homebuilding industry as a whole
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey messages clearly to internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science, Business, Supply-Chain Management, Finance, or related field of study/relevant work experience.
