With a reputation for building the highest-quality homes through their extensive network of high-end trades and subcontractors, this home builder is projecting a very strong project pipeline throughout 2023 and into 2024.Job DescriptionThe Purchasing Manager will oversee all purchasing and procurement operations for each home project the company builds along with managing a team of 2-3 Purchasing Agents. In addition, the Purchasing Manager will have the following responsibilities:Oversee the full purchasing life cycle for each projectManage subcontractor price negotiations and contractsManage negotiating and executing of contracts for the purchase of all material and laborPrepare bid packages, collect pricing, negotiate contracts, maintain scopes of work, administer contracts and control budgets.Play a major role in the New Home Design Process, Design Selection Process, and Value Engineering ProcessRecruit, hire, evaluate, train, develop and retain productive and highly engaged purchasing department team membersEnsure option requests and change orders are accurate and processed appropriately within the department, within the scope of company guidelinesUnderstand and coach team members about purchasing and construction best practices, as well as how to read/evaluate blueprints, and building codes to ensure proper contracting of tradesMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
