Job Description

  • Manage a team of buyers towards proper inventory levels and reduction of backorders to end goal of properly servicing our customer base

  • Lead team through everyday activities, developing skills to drive them to reach their full potential

  • Set goals and objectives, conduct reviews and develop growth plans for buyers.

  • Develop and manage metrics and KPI's for buyers

  • Manage assigned product categories

  • Work with sales to determine forecast by major product groups. Work with Supply Chain to manage monthly SIOP meetings with sales and buyers

  • Manage supply and demand forecast by product group

  • Managing and tracking Supplier Performances to track performances in Supplier Score Card

  • Work with supply base to define capacity planning and prioritize purchase order production

  • Communicate supply lead time changes to buyers, sales, customer service

  • Work with sales to develop inventory reduction strategies on slow-moving inventories

  • Procurement BPL for Microsoft AX

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience in tactical/strategic buying in procurement
  • 5+ years purchasing or supply chain experience
  • Leadership & management experience - direct management of buyers for tactical buying
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to lead a team of buyers
  • Intermediate to advance in Excel
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably emphasis in Supply Chain
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of forecasting and demand planning with raw materials and finished goods
